Also known as a CT scan (computerized axial tomography), is an imaging test that allows your provider to “look” inside your body to assess if your cancer has spread to other sites from the ovary. CT scans use a combination of X-rays and computer generated pictures to evaluate your internal organs. The scan can be done using an intravenous contrast dye or you may be given oral contrast to drink depending on the type of information that your doctor needs. The test lasts about 30min and is performed in a radiologists office.
