A program founded at Mount Sinai Hospital in 2003 to provide support and hope to patients undergoing treatment for gynecologic cancers. Staffed by volunteer survivors of various gynecologic cancers, the program is premised around patient empowerment and self-advocacy, providing support for patients and their families. The Mount Sinai model has been replicated at many cancer centers throughout the US.
